Vocalist/violinist REBECCA ZAPEN is a third-generation musician from a musical family tree, with roots in classical violin, and branching out into jazz, folk, klezmer, and various genres. Her fourth album is called Nest, an original album of lush folk-pop, which was awarded Florida Album of the Year 2011. Other awards and honors include: Best Cabaret Album & Song at the Just Plain Folks Awards 2009 in Nashville for album Japanese Bathhouse; awarded Jacksonville’s Musician of the Year 2008; 2nd Place winner in the Bushman World Ukulele Video Contest 2008; finalist in the DiscMakers’ Independent Music World Series 2007. She was voted Best Local Classical Musician in Creative Loafing’s Best of the Bay contest 2015. Rebecca received 6 nominations in the 2017 JPF Music Awards. In addition to her solo work, her projects include Harpology Strings and the Florida Bjorkestra.
